How do you get into the cruising business?
I know what I would be getting into, so don’t try to persuade me. I have many questions for the ones who know a pretty good amount about the cruising business. What type of jobs would go for someone who is in their early twenties and has little college schooling? How often do you get paid? When you do get paid, what is the normal salary? Do you have breaks? What are the normal times for breaks? How long are your breaks? What is the best ocean liners for one to work on?

All cruise line websites have a tab for employment opportunities.

Your questions show, that you do not know, what you would be getting into.
Simply because your questions are not necessarily the right ones. The question is not, what job would be good for you, the question need to be, what you are qualified you. The question is what you can give to the cruise line – not the other way around.
You need 2-3 year relevant work experience on land, before you are even considered for an entry position.

Once you have that, have applied for that position and gotten the job, the other questions can follow.
How often you get paid ? some cruise lines pay twice a month, some once per month

Your salary depends on the position you hold – so there is no way to give you the salary of 100 of different positions onboard.

What do you mean by breaks ? Breaks in between the 6 to 10 month contract or breaks during the day ?
Once again, if you have breaks within the contract – that depends on your position and cruise line.
If you mean breaks during the day – it depends on your position, the cruise line and your work-schedule. There are no fixed times for breaks. Same goes with the lenght for the breaks. It will vary, day by day, situation by situation.
This is the hospitality industry – one needs to be flexible.

You would apply to a cruise line, not to a specific ship.
The rules and regulations are basically the same in the industry.
What means – “the best” for you ?
Where you travel the most, where you have the easier life, where you have the friendlier Supervisor ?
You cannot choose the ship where you would go to anyway, and co-workers as well as Supervisors come and go……….
