Cruising America’s Waterways’ early spring voyage on a 100-passenger ship, the Nantucket Clipper, along a stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), features Charleston’s stellar architecture and attractions including Fort Sumter and the South Carolina Aquarium; a look at the second-oldest city in South Carolina, Beaufort; and Georgia’s “First City” – Savannah. Departing the dock at Brunswick, Georgia there’s time to explore Jekyll Island and nearby St. Simons Island. St. Mary’s, Georgia is our charming port for a tendered visit to Cumberland Island, the largest of the State’s Barrier Islands. The ship docks at Jacksonville, Florida, where we visit The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, head for kayaking on Amelia Island, and tour the birthplace of the American Red Cross lifesaving program.
